 As Assistant Breeder, you will support our breeding program by organizing trials, executing crossings, and ensuring smooth seed multiplication. Your work is essential to help us find the best parental lines and hybrid combinations. If you love working with plants and enjoy variety in your tasks, this is your chance to join a dynamic and innovative team. You’ll be based at our R&D Center in Andijk, working in greenhouses and outdoor fields during spring and summer, and spending part of your time in the office during autumn and winter. Every season brings new challenges and opportunities.

 

You’ll report to the Senior Spinach Breeder and collaborate closely with other breeders. You’ll also guide greenhouse personnel in crop maintenance and practical activities. Together, we ensure the success of our breeding program.

Your responsibilities

  • Organize sowing and transplanting of breeding trials.

  • Collect data and make observations on plant growth and flowering.

  • Execute crossings and manage seed harvest, cleaning, and administration.

  • Support ad hoc experiments and ensure accurate documentation of results.

  • Maintain compliance with protocols and contribute to continuous improvements.

 

To seed your future, you've got the following skills

  • HBO degree in plant sciences or a related field.

  • Strong planning and organizing skills; good MS Excel knowledge is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Attention to detail, precision, and a structured approach.

  • Enthusiasm for working in greenhouses and outdoor environments.
