We are seeking to recruit at the earliest possibility a lead breeding assistant (m/f/d) for line development hybrid rye for the KWS LOCHOW GMBH at our breeding station in Wohlde, Lower Saxony, Germany. The position is permanent and on a full-time basis. 

 

You will steer and oversee processes for line multiplication, observation trials and crossing in greenhouses with responsibility for: 

  • Planning and steering of technical processes 

  • Leading, guiding and assisting the development of your team 

  • Managing the interaction with other teams within the hybrid rye group 

  • Acting as a substitute for the Assistant Breeder for Conversion 

  • Maintaining our internal data bases for in time documentation and presentation of results 

  • Summarizing and presenting your work at our annual reporting meetings 

 

For seeding the future you will bring: 

  • Job training or university degree in agriculture or plant breeding, or related fields 

  • Knowledge of and passion for plant production, field trials and plant breeding 

  • Willingness to take responsibility for leading a team 

  • You enjoy guiding your colleagues, and are an excellent team player 

  • You possess good organizational skills and a high degree of flexibility and are eager to contribute 

  • Good communications skills in German, basic English 

  • Driving license class B or BE 

  • Willingness to travel within Germany and Poland during the growing season
