Do you like to work on innovative topics, are familiar with breeding and like to work in an international environment? Then you need to become part of our sugar beet resistance breeding group at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck, Germany.


Your tasks:

  • Development of variety components with resistances to insects
  • Evaluation and interpretation of screenings of KWS germplasm and genetic resources in field and greenhouse environments
  • Optimization of breeding schemes including the integration of genomic selection and molecular markers
  • Takeover of budget and personnel responsibility
  • Collaboration in an international team of breeders and researchers and in strategic initiatives towards insect resistance across crops


Your profile:

  • Master or PhD in plant breeding, animal breeding, agronomy or biology
  • Strong background in quantitative genetics, statistics and breeding methodology
  • Experience in the layout of field and greenhouse trials, the analysis of larger data sets and database work
  • Experience in leading a hybrid breeding program is a plus
  • Experience in working with plant insect pests is a plus
  • Excellent team player and communication skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • Willingness to travel
