Do you want to help developing procedures for monitoring plant pests and diseases for the future agriculture? Are you looking for a motivated, dynamic team and the freedom to be innovative?
Then you have come to the right place as a Research Scientist (all genders) Monitoring of Plant Pests and Diseases at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at our headquarters in Einbeck, Germany. This is a full-time, permanent position to be filled as soon as possible.  
As a member of the Phytopathology Group, you will expand plant pest and disease monitoring. The focus is on the further development of remote monitoring systems in the field and project management.

Your responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and develop monitoring systems for insects, fungi, viruses, and bacteria in the field 
  • Validate and implement new technologies 
  • Data management, statistical analysis, and reporting 
  • Communicate with project / peer-review teams
  • Manage work packages and ensure timely delivery of milestones in the projects
  • Support resistance breeding and seed technology programs for plant pests and diseases

Bring in your strengths: 

  • PhD degree preferably in agricultural sciences, phytopathology, biology, or related disciplines
  • Experience with imaging techniques, remote pest or disease monitoring, data processing, and global pathogen mapping with georeferenced samples
  • Extensive knowledge of database management
  • Basic knowledge of entomology, mycology, and virology
  • Experience in project management is an advantage 
  • Effective, customer-oriented communication and excellent teamwork skills
  • Fluent in English, basic knowledge of German is an advantage
