You are looking for a new opportunity to work on high level in an international science environment and lead a motivated and experience team? Join the Native Traits department within maize breeding at KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck.

 

Tasks

  • Lead and steer the maize resistance and quality native traits team in the KWS maize breeding department
    • Develop concepts, optimize and support implementation of
    • Global phenotyping platforms for resistance and quality traits
    • Efficient and save routines for gene identification and fine mapping
  • Genomic prediction for resistance and quality traits
  • Oversee available genetic resources
  • Implement new tools, data management routines, project management and utilization of molecular resources
  • Project lead for trait developments
  • Work in an international team of breeders, technicians, biostatisticians and molecular geneticists

 
Profile

  • PhD degree in agriculture or biology or equivalent working experience
  • Strong background and some years experience in plant breeding research, quantitative genetics, genetic mapping and resistance traits
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Knowledge in maize breeding, phytopathology, biostatistics (QTL, association mapping, genetic mapping, field trial analysis) would be beneficial
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Independent and responsible way of working, excellent team-player and good communication skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally
