To expand the team of KWS in Nagele, we are looking for a Technical Assistant Breeding Station.

 

The KWS polder station in Nagele (Flevoland) consists of approximately 100 ha of arable farming with research and breeding activities for various crops within the cultivation plan. The technical team consists of 28 employees who are responsible for a wide range of activities year-round.

 

Your tasks:

 

Operational support of greenhouse activities (70%)

  • Coordinating and supervising activities from a technical point of view, giving directions and instructions, especially for harvesting flowers for pollen collection, but also (supporting) crossings and leaf sampling
  • Performing leaf sampling
  • Executing the crossing programmes and accurately follow instructions

 

Operational support of all station activities in the greenhouse and field (30%)

  • Carrying out sowing, planting, evaluation and harvesting activities 
  • Supporting and performing the processing and analysis of potato samples  
  • Recording of observations, counts and findings
  • Registering and reporting deviations
  • Making proposals for the improvement of (work) processes
  • Observing the regulations, instructions and protocols 

 

Your profile:

 

  • You have a completed MBO education and a good knowledge of arable farming.
  • You can work accurately, are flexible and prepared (with colleagues) to be broadly deployable.
  • In addition to working with machines, there is also manual work, you must be able to work accurately and maintain a calm and orderly disposition.
  • Due to the international character of the company, it is useful to have some command of English and German language.
