We are seeking to recruit at the earliest opportunity a Cereal Trials Leader for our KWS UK Ltd. entity in Thriplow nearby Cambridge. This is an unlimited and full-time employment contract.  

You will report to the Trials Manager and as part of the Trials Team you will be involved with yield trials and other plant breeding operations essential for the successful development of new varieties. In this position, the successful candidate will lead the Cereal Trials Operation team.

The future of food counts on you, therefore you can expect 

 

  • Liaising with Plant Breeder on their trial requirements 
  • Plan, prepare and drill cereal trials plots 
  • Be responsible for protection of trial plots, score and collect data 
  • Set up trials onto KWS database systems and present statistically analysed data to the breeders.   
  • Carry out timely harvest of trial plots 
     

Who you are? What do you bring to the table? 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and/or gained equivalent experience in a similar position including relevant trials experience with an experience in line management and team leading.
  •  Knowledge on weeds, drillings, and cereals such as growth stages, disease management, spraying of cereal crops and decimal systems. 
  • Basic agricultural machinery experience. 
  • Holding PA1, PA11, Counterbalance forklift and telehandler licenses or willingness to join training if skills are not possessed yet
  • In addition, good literacy, numeracy as well as knowledge of Microsoft Excel are required, knowledge of databases would be beneficial. 
  • You hold a driving license.
