KWS Vegetables is looking for an exceptional Account Manager Babyleaf Spain & Portugal (m/f/d), with focus Spinach and Swiss Chard. This role is designed to drive our sales and market strategy, aligning with the company's overall objectives to ensure sustained growth and profitability in the global vegetables sector. The ideal candidate will possess strategic insight, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the agricultural industry, particularly in the vegetable seeds sector. This is a full time and permanent position, based at our station in Murcia, Spain.

 

 

 

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Development of Pop Vriend Seeds market position and market share with key accounts within the fresh baby leaf market in Spain + Portugal
  • Build a trusted partnership with our key accounts and regional dealers; support of the commercial sales activities (commercial promotions, supply/demand, pricing) in the assigned territory.
  • Monitor market developments and report market data and information on acreage, seed prices, competitive activity, trade + consumer issues and trends in the assigned territory.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the fresh market spinach and Swiss chard product range. Support the trial plan and evaluate product performance to determine the added value of new varieties for the fresh market baby leaf in the assigned territory.
  • Support growers, packers and retailers with the introduction and promotion of varieties and new product concepts in the assigned territory to increase market share. Develop solutions that meet objectives and turn them into business.
  • To build a network and a full understanding of the key companies, key people and supplier/buyer relationships in the fresh market baby leaf supply chain (growers, trading companies, wholesalers and supermarkets) in order to establish partnerships..
  • Initiate and develop (in close collaboration with R&D and Product Management) account plans for key accounts in assigned territory.
  • Responsible for the management and development of a portfolio of (inter)national key accounts with a focus on fresh market baby leaf in the assigned territory.
  • Develop and successful implementation of account plans with focus on 4 P’s.
  • Execution of commercial introductions at customer location and evaluate features, advantages and benefits of varieties
  • Define – execute new product launch plans in line with market developments and Customer Team plans
  • Provides a high level of product information and market intelligence towards Product Management and Customer Team
  • Monitor and actively maintain reliable sales forecast
  • Maintain a healthy financial position, manage outstanding accounts in cooperation with the finance dept.

 

 

 

 

Your profile:

  • Requires a minimum of a B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture
  • At least 5 years of experience in the vegetable (seed) industry
  • Green fingers, understanding customer needs and business dynamics
  • Proven experience in sales and/or production within the agricultural industry, achieving business results
  • Fluent English + Spanish in word and writing, additional language(s) are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel internationally (15%)
  • Experience with SalesForce, ABS and/or PowerBi is preferred.
