Then join our international team at KWS LOCHOW GmbH in Wohlde-Bergen, Germany as an Assistant Breeder (m/w/d) for trait introgression and hybrid systems in Hybrid Rye Breeding. This exciting position is full-time and permanent.

 

These will be your key areas of responsibility:

  • Planning and executing of greenhouse programs for trait introgression in Hybrid Rye
  • Steering and supervising specific selfing and crossing programs
  • Organization of conversion and line development processes using in-house software
  • Design and supervision of breeding-research projects
  • Creation of summary analyses and reports
  • Functional management for the trait introgression team
  • Deputizing for functional management for the line development team

 

Bring in your strengths:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in plant breeding, agricultural science, or related studies
  • Good knowledge and practical skills in phenotypic and marker-assisted selection
  • Experience in handling plants (ideally in the greenhouse) is a plus
  • Good skills in common MS-Office applications, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with standard software packages for statistical analysis and databases
  • Business fluent German as well as good written and spoken English skills
  • Independent working style, team spirit and high sense of responsibility
  • Willingness to work occasionally over time and on weekends as well as seasonal travel (up to 10%)
