KWS continuously offers internships on a full-time basis at our Cereals Breeding Station in Bergen-Wohlde, Germany. The typical duration of the paid internships is at least one month or longer in the period between end of April and October.

Students (f/m/d) will get insight and first hand working experience in practical plant breeding in one or more of the following areas:

 

  • Yield Trials
  • Seed Production
  • Line Development
  • Data Analysis

 

Your tasks can be:

  • Trait-scoring and all tasks related to technical breeding
  • Support trial-seed's production team in Italy
  • Hands-on work during harvest of yield trials and inbreed lines
  • Hands-on work in crop conditioning
  • Prepare and sow testing seed
  • Participation in lectures about practical plant breeding and management of breeding companies

 

Your profile:

  • Student (undergraduate, graduate) in agriculture, agronomy, horticulture or related fields
  • Strong interest in practical plant breeding
  • Resistance to outdoor and greenhouse work at diverse weather conditions
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extra hours during peak season
  • Cooperation and team spirit
  • Availability to travel
  • Good proficiency in English, basic German is advantageous
  • Driving license class B is desirable
