We are looking to recruit a Breeding Information Scientist (f/m/d) for our Cereals Breeding Information Team as part of a dynamic and innovative department. You will collaborate with colleagues from our breeding teams, breeding information scientists, database managers, software engineers and other key partners to develop and implement software solutions for breeding.

 

Your tasks:

  • Support users and assist on the maintenance of the existing software solutions
  • Communicate with breeding teams on regular basis and translate their requirements into specifications for software developers
  • Create documentation and training material using the KWS platforms
  • Integration of historical and actual information related to breeding
  • Test the new applications and provide feedback
  • Organize and drive the implementation of the new soft. applications
  • Identify opportunities to standardize/digitalize/automate breeding processes

 
Your profile:

  • University degree in computer science or natural science (MSc. / PhD or comparable experience)
  • Experience in process mapping and gathering of user requirements
  • Data management and knowledge on Programming languages is a plus
  • Interest to work on the intersection of plant breeding and technology to pursue the implementation of digital tools
  • Service oriented, organized, excellent team player, proactive, with passion to move things forward
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English (German or other languages are a plus)
