Join us as our Senior Lead Software Development (all gender) within the KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at our location in Einbeck, Germany.

You will be accountable for continuous operation, improvement, and development of digital solutions for KWS Research & Development to support KWS digitalization strategy. To achieve this mission, you will manage hard- and software infrastructure and application platforms including on-premises and cloud solutions. In this role you will:

• Be Accountable for R&D IT hard- and software development strategy and budget allocation

• Participate in steering bodies supporting and advising decisions regarding R&D IT strategy

• Assure continuous service delivery for high productive digital systems

• Develop and implement future-oriented database- and operations concepts and software solutions, which secure functionality in an exponentially growing data field

• Attract, hire, and further develop IT talents 

• Lead team of ~4 direct reports with layers bellow and influence in a matrix organization

• Work with external IT partners

• Play an important role in the creation of valued-added digital products

• Support adoption of new technologies in R&D

• Work in an agile environment with space for innovation 

Who you are and what you bring to the table:

• Graduation in information technology or computer science or a closely related field

• Extensive leadership skills with proven experience managing software development teams

• Deep knowledge in the field of agile software development, IT infrastructure, and data management with a sound capability of translating scientific and operational requirements into a productive data management environment

• Strong self-motivated driver who seeks continuous improvement and supports decision making at various levels of the organization

• Solution-oriented mentality with an open and cooperative mindset and a high degree of customer orientation

• Effective communication skills in English and ability to connect with a diverse audience and build trust

• Working expertise in Breeding, Crop-Protection-, or Life-Science R&D field are a plus
