We are looking to recruit, at the earliest opportunity possible, a Scientist (m/f/d) in the field of automated field trial analysis at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck (Lower-Saxony).

 

Your tasks:

  • Development of new software modules with a focus on automatic breeding data evaluation 
  • Product Owner for processes for automatic breeding data evaluation
  • Close collaboration with plant breeding, biostatistics and programming teams
  • Management and further development of a cross-crop breeding data information system
  • Intensive teamwork with the Breeding Information groups of all KWS crops
  • Worldwide training on the use of the software modules 
  • Trips to various KWS breeding stations in Germany and abroad to support and train users

 

Your profile:

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in plant or animal breeding, information technology or comparable
  • Good knowledge in the field of test data evaluation
  • Experience in managing, evaluating and visualizing data
  • Basic experience in the use of databases (e.g. SQL) and/or programming skills (e.g. R, Python)
  • Interest in agile working and process design
  • Very good communication and teamwork skills
  • Fluency in English (in both written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
