We are seeking a Technical Assistant (m/f/d) for experimental hybrids in sugar beet breeding. The permanent position is based in Einbeck, Germany, and will be available from January 1, 2027. Responsibilities:
- Support the setup and evaluation of trials, including the compilation and preparation of results
- Support the establishment of seed production activities, including upstream and downstream tasks such as purity analyses and the compilation of results
- Enter, maintain and process data in MS Office applications and breeding databases
- Conduct assessments in seed production fields in Italy, France and Germany, with travel requirements of approximately five weeks per year
- Support other working groups, primarily within sugar beet breeding
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and optimization of processes
- Support cost-efficient personnel planning for practical breeding activities
Your profile:
- Completed vocational training as a plant technologist, agricultural technician or a comparable qualification with several years of professional experience; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field
- Very good IT skills, particularly in MS Office Excel, and ideally experience with breeding databases; willingness to learn and work with new tools such as Power Platform
- Basic knowledge of plant breeding and experience in practical breeding activities
- Strong organizational skills, team orientation, flexibility and resilience
- Reliable, independent and responsible working style
- Good German and English language skills for communication with breeding stations
- Willingness to undertake seasonal business travel
- Class B driving license required
