KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA is looking for a dedicated Technical Assistant (m/f/d) in the field of sugar beet breeding. This diverse position is a full-time, fixed-term contract as maternity leave cover until March 31, 2027, located at our headquarters in Einbeck, Lower Saxony.

What you can look forward to:

  • Implementation of crossing programs from young plant cultivation, scoring and monitoring tasks to harvest work in the greenhouse and field
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of field trials
  • Participation in methodological experiments in the greenhouse, climate chambers, and field
  • Preparation and setup of marker projects as well as sample collection for marker analyses within breeding projects
  • Input, maintenance, and processing of data for the preparation of reports, presentations, and databases

 

Bring in your strengths:

  • Completed vocational training or B.Sc. degree in agriculture or a related field
  • First experience in practical plant breeding is required
  • Confident handling of MS Office, especially Excel and Access; ideally experience with breeding databases
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Flexibility and willingness to carry out routine work as well as to integrate new work processes
  • Independent working style, team spirit, and a high level of responsibility
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 2–3 weeks per year) and a valid Class B driver’s license
