Essential Job Functions:

• Become the local expert in operating seed processing equipment from the initial receiving of incoming product from the fields through packaging of the finished product including cleaning equipment, gravity tables, sizing, rotors, dryers, coloring and chemical application equipment, and packaging
• Train and lead processing crews in seed processing functions, make decisions in the supervisor’s absence and take ownership for the product produced
•  Treat, pellet, and package seed for research trial planting
• Plant and evaluate seed for germination rates
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the internal database
• Completes shipments using FEDEX, UPS and other commercial carriers
• Operate required proprietary software for data collection.
• Cross-train in other station activities to meet business demands
• Open to helping with in field activities during high seasonal demands
•  Perform outdoor work in variable conditions including heat, cold, wind and rain
• Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate a forklift on behalf of the business

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrates strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and aptitude for multi-tasking
• Ability to work independently and trouble shoot
• Computer proficiency required
• Ability to work non-standard hours when needed
• Able to become forklift certified
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Valid Driver's License
• Obtain Pesticide Applicator License for seed treatment within 6 months of hire
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Agriculture or related degree.
• 2+ years of appropriate work experience working in the seed industry and/or Ag. research environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
