KWS LOCHOW POLSKA Sp. z o.o. specializes in breeding new plant varieties and producing high-quality seed material. Our portfolio includes maize, rapeseed, sugar beet, and hybrid rye; however, rye breeding is our main area of expertise.

We are currently looking for a Plant Breeding Technician to join our team in Kondratowice (Lower Silesia Province, Strzelin County, Poland). This is a full-time position available immediately.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for breeding processes in line development, with a strong focus on greenhouse hybrid rye breeding programs

• Plan, execute, and supervise operational activities and trials related to selfing, crossing and evaluating rye inbred lines in both greenhouse and field (sowing, transplanting, manual harvesting)

• Coordination of station staff and seasonal workers

• Preparation of plant material for marker-assisted selection

• Assess and analyze field observation and plant development using digital data-collection systems and mobile applications

• Collaborate closely with specialists and provide technical support in research activities

• Prepare graphs, tables, and descriptive statistics as part of the annual reporting process

• Technical coordination of seed and plant exchange between working groups

• Preparation and maintenance of breeding documentation in Polish and English

 

Candidate Profile:

• University degree in agriculture, preferred field of study: plant breeding and seed production, general agriculture, or related fields

• Experience in agricultural work related to plant breeding and/or field trials is an advantage

• Strong interest in plants and plant-related work

• Good command of MS Office, especially Excel

• High level of availability, commitment, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team

• Fluency in Polish (spoken and written) and communicative level of English

• Valid driving license, category B

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for business purposes
