Interested in becoming a valued team member at our production facility in Tangent, OR USA for the #1 sugarbeet seed brand for growers in North America?  We currently have an exciting opportunity as an Electrical Journeyman.  This position will coordinate and oversee day to day maintenance operations within the production facility using a maintenance software program and serving as the electrical and SCADA expert on all processing equipment.   

SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The Electrical Journeyman will coordinate and oversee day to day maintenance operations within the production facility using a maintenance software program and serving as the electrical expert on all processing equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise and train the maintenance personnel to identify electrical maintenance issues and safe work practices
• Ensure proper predictive, preventive maintenance practices are adhered to and accurately documented
• Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on all equipment and facilities
• Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
• Work on planning and implementing projects as a team member or independently
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with maintenance and production staff
• Install and maintain process controls and troubleshooting
• Work closely with the production, research, QC, and mechanical maintenance staff on daily operations and projects
• Verify all electrical installations onsite meet Oregon laws, regulations, policies, and procedures

• Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures and safety policies are followed, and personal protective equipment is used correctly
• Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate a forklift on behalf of the business
• Meet attendance requirements
• Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts including on-call as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays)
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of relevant work experience or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Oregon Electrical Journeyman’s license or Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrical license
• Demonstrated strong team leadership, communication, organizational and training skills
• Strong mechanical skills
• Ability to read and fabricate from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to become forklift certified

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Millwright, or mechanical certification
• Experience in servicing equipment including but not limited to mechanic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical
• Computer experience, with knowledge of maintenance software, Auto Cad, Excel, and other Microsoft based programs

Working Environment:

Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed. Work in elevated and precarious places and able to cover multiple areas including staircases safely and quickly. Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc). Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays). Ability to work individually and within a team setting.
