Looking for a great place to work with exceptional benefits? We are currently looking for a Seed Processing Lead. Come join the team located at our Tangent, Oregon seed production facility.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate all seed processing equipment from the initial receiving of incoming product from the fields through packaging of the finished product including: cleaning equipment, gravity tables, sizing, rotors, dryers, coloring and chemical application equipment, and packaging
  • Follow procedures and documentation, communicate clearly during shift change, avoid contamination and ensure product is tagged correctly
  • Operate systems such as Human Manufacturing Interface (HMI) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Work effectively with minimal direction from Supervisors and Quality staff
  • Works with Supervisor and other departments to assure quality needs are met or exceeded
  • Train and lead processing crews in seed processing functions, make decisions in the supervisor’s absence and take ownership for the product produced
  • Cross-train in other positions to meet business demands
  • Develop and maintain respectful working relationships with all departments
  • Ensure Company handbook, Rules Guidelines and Procedures, and safety policies are followed 
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as needed
  • Work variable work schedule as needed
  • Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate a forklift on behalf of the business
  • Meet attendance requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 + years or equivalent combination of education and experience in agriculture
  • Demonstrated strong team leadership, communication, organizational, and training skills
  • Strong technical skills and computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed
  • Able to become forklift certified
  • High school diploma or equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in agriculture with consideration given to other credentials and relevant work history
  • SCADA, HMI, and MES experience
  • General working and mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to train others to operate HMI interfaces

Working Environment:

Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed. Work in high and precarious places and able to cover multiple areas including staircases safely and quickly. Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc). Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays). Ability to work individually and within a team setting.

The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
