As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a an Assistant Variety Registration in support of the Germplasm Coordinator. This vital role focuses on the registration of new vegetable varieties worldwide, requiring a blend of precision, organizational skills, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. What you can expect in this role:

  • Assist the Germplasm Coordinator in managing the administrative tasks associated with the registration of new vegetable varieties worldwide, ensuring a streamlined and efficient process.
  • Coordinate meetings between breeders and product managers to facilitate timely decisions regarding the registrations of new varieties.
  • Maintain and organize the variety database, ensuring its accuracy and relevance. Implement and integrate new ICT systems in collaboration with the IT Application Manager to improve database management.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders concerning registration matters, ensuring clear and effective communication.

 

What you bring in: 

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience or affinity with the plant breeding sector is desirable, indicating a familiarity with the industry's specific needs and challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed administrative tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proven experience in managing, organizing, and updating databases, with a strong understanding of data entry principles and practices.
  • Competence in using management information systems, databases, and spreadsheet software.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with team members, management, and external partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High level of organization and planning abilities, with a talent for managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to work independently, taking initiative where necessary and making informed decisions.
