KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA is looking for an International Portfolio Manager (m/f/d) for Sorghum for the Special Crops & Organic Seeds sub-business unit. In this role, you will be responsible for the sorghum product area and work closely with the Commercial and Product Managers in the local markets. This permanent full-time position is available at our location in Wiebrechtshausen/Northeim (Lower Saxony, Germany) at the earliest possible date.

Your tasks - challenge meets responsibility: 

  • Implement and execute the overall sorghum strategy according to the agreed strategic plan
  • Define the product roadmaps and breeding targets to ensure a sustainable and successful sorghum portfolio
  • Continuous analysis and reporting of commercial success and understanding of business figures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams
  • Analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the competitive and own portfolio and communicating the results (incl. sales tactics) to the markets
  • Successful cooperation with agro-service teams to support the development of sorghum know-how 
     

Your profile - competence meets personality:

  • Completed degree in agricultural sciences (university or university of applied sciences) or comparable qualification
  • Ideally experience in portfolio management, in the seed industry or in international agricultural product marketing 
  • Good knowledge of agricultural and plant cultivation practice; knowledge of tropical or subtropical plants is an advantage
  • Willingness for continuous training and participation in seminars
  • Intercultural skills and organizational talent, coupled with assertiveness
  • Excellent communication skills, high level of initiative, independence and goal orientation
  • Ability to work under pressure, flexibility and meticulous attention to detail
  • Good PC user skills (MS Office)
  • Very good written and spoken German and English; other languages are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%) and possession of a car driver's license
