As our new Category Manager (m/f/d) -  Investment Buildings - working at KWS Berlin GmbH -  you will drive the procurement strategy for construction, refurbishment and technical infrastructure projects across KWS Group as well as implementing construction projects. 

 

Working in a dynamic, multicultural environment, you will collaborate with international stakeholders and strategic suppliers to deliver innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions that create long-term value and support the company’s growth ambitions 

 

This is a permanent position to be filled full-time. 

 

 

 

Responsibilities:  

 

 

  • Establish, continuously develop and implement the international invest building procurement strategy in alignment with business units and Global Functions, especially the real estate team 

  • Manage technical infrastructure 

  • Lead and execute the entire strategic sourcing process (S2C): strategy development, tender, negotiation, contract execution, and handover to business units / functions 

  • Ensure compliance of procurement contracts with legal requirements and internal standards (e.g. Code of Ethics, ESG)  

  • Act as consultant to your stakeholder, initiate and implement strategic procurement initiatives across a complex global matrix organization  

  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and tools for strategic and tactical category work as well as for systems, products, and services 

  • Guide and support tactical buyers with category knowledge, RFx, negotiations, spend analysis, and supplier relationship management  

  • Execute effective Supplier Relationship Management to drive cost efficiency and innovation and serve as escalation point in case of claims 

  • Present clear and concise information tailored to different audiences, including senior leadership  

  • Create spend transparency and contribute to annual and mid-term budget planning and define key projects for area of responsibility  

 

 

 

Profile: 

 

 

  • Academic degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or comparable  

  • Relevant experience in strategic procurement, ideally with a strong focus procuring building and construction work – ideally in the agricultural business 

  • IT literacy in relevant IT system is an advantage (SAP, Spend Transparency & Supplier Relationship Management Systems, MS Office)  

  • Analytical and negotiating skills, solution-oriented working style 

  • Interculturally competent networker  

  • Experienced in working in complex matrix organizations in a global multi-cultural context 

  • Team player with a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit 

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills 

  • Continuously improving processes while developing own expertise in order to provide excellent service delivery  

  • Eager to drive and achieve aligned results  

  • Great communication skills with different target groups and able to build up sustainable rapports 

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); any additional language,is regarded an asset
