We are seeking to recruit at the earliest convenience on a full-time contract basis a Scientist (m/f/d) for Beet Quality Analysis to support our Chemistry group of KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at Einbeck/Germany (as parental leave replacement; initially limited to 2 years). As Scientist (m/f/d) for Beet Quality Analysis you will be responsible for development, application, and control of spectroscopic and optical analysis techniques on harvesters and mobile trailers on breeding stations and work in an international team.

 

Your tasks:

  • Chemometric data analysis and calibration of Near Infrared Spectroscopic (NIRS) applications on harvester in the field and on stationary devices in the lab
  • Further development of chemical methods for quality estimation of sugarbeets in close collaboration with breeders and external partners  
  • Planning, conduction, analysis and result presentation of trials for customer specific NIRS-applications
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting via phone,email, web and in-person for the analytical equipment including calibration, validation and database management
  • Development of analytical portfolio in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders 

 

Your profile:

  • University degree in analytical chemistry, process analytical technology, agronomy or comparable
  • Experience in the application of optical measurement systems and analytical chemistry
  • Experience in the field of chemometrics and multivariate calibration or machine learning, ideally with Matlab
  • Professional written and verbal English is mandatory, additional language skills (German in particular) are a plus.
  • Effective communication and intercultural skills.
