At KWS, we are passionate about developing innovative plant varieties that contribute to sustainable agriculture. To strengthen our Sunflower Breeding team in Hungary, we are looking for a motivated Assistant Breeder who will support and coordinate various breeding activities.

This full-time and permanent position is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise, gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to the success of our sunflower breeding programs.

Your Tasks – Challenge Meets Responsibility:

• Data Management & Program Coordination: Manage, maintain, and ensure the quality of breeding and research data across relevant systems and databases. Coordinate data-related activities, support trial and program administration, perform data uploads and validations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data management processes and workflows.
• Phenotypic Data Collection: Collect, record, and document phenotypic observations and trait data according to established protocols, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data quality.
• Disease Monitoring: Conduct disease monitoring activities, including disease assessments, sample collection, data management, and reporting of results.
• Genotyping Coordination: Coordinate genotyping requests and related activities to ensure timely sample processing, data availability, and communication between stakeholders.
• Seed Logistics & Quality Management: Track seed shipments across international breeding locations, coordinate seed quality checks, maintain databases and protocols, and ensure timely data sharing with relevant teams

Your Profile – Competence Meets Personality:

• Academic degree in plant breeding, agricultural science, or related studies
• Previous experience in plant breeding is an advantage
• Solid knowledge of database management and IT applications
• Proficiency in both English and Hungarian
• A genuine interest in plant breeding and a strong willingness to learn and develop
• Open-minded, motivated and adaptable personality with a flexible and collaborative approach
• Driving license class B
