KWS Seeds LLC is seeking to recruit at the earliest opportunity a full-time permanent Sr. Station Technician in Ogden, UT, USA. You will execute the preparation of seeds for trials, stack production, and greenhouse orders. Maintains accurate records and adheres to quality standards and trialing protocols which may include regulated material. May give work direction to seasonal and temporary workers.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Package seed packets to ensure planting arrangement is done accurately.
  • Operate inventory software/devices, keeping accurate records of inventory amounts and locations.
  • Operate the required proprietary software for data collection.
  • Operate planting and treating equipment, which may include company vehicles and forklifts.
  • Train and provide work directions to temporary workers and coordinate work schedules as needed.
  • Keep detailed records of activities for traceability of seed.
  • Occasionally assist with equipment, facility and vehicle maintenance.
  • Apply pesticides to seeds as needed, package, ship and track shipments including required SDS data sheets or other documentation as needed.
  • Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures and safety policies are followed, and personal protective equipment is used correctly.
  • Travel and/or drive on behalf of the business.
  • Meet attendance requirements, including typical agriculture seasonal periods
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy, agriculture, biology or related field or extensive related knowledge and experience
  • Two or more years of experience in agriculture, inventory, greenhouse or plot research or similar work
  • Ability to work variable hours if needed (overtime likely in Spring and Fall seasons)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with flexibility, ability to oversee temporary assistants
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, record keeping and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills preferred, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Strong communications skills and prioritization of work, to ensure deadlines are met for planting/shipping seed
  • Valid driver’s license acceptable driving history
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills with consistent attention to detail
  • Cooperative, flexible and able to work effectively in an international team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication and leadership skills

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and construct research equipment
  • Experience hiring, training and supervising staff
  • Class CDL license or ability to obtain
  • Ability to be licensed as a Remote Pilot

 

Our Offer: 

  • Hourly salary is between $22 to $27. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made
